Research indicates that setting goals, monitoring them and knowing how to find the steps in accomplishing them can lead to better self-control for students. This research shows the difference between young adults and children who are just meeting their goals versus those who are exceeding them. In addition, research also explains how specific events or communication can ruin self-esteem and decrease self control.
